EVENTS IN INSTITUTIONS
Orienteering activities organized for different Organizations.
As a team, we intend to deal it easier to deal with group obstacles in a creative way, learning from experience.
We organize Orienteering modules according to the specific Organizations’ objectives.
Some organizations that have chosen our proposals.
Orienteering seminars
Club de Amigos:
The seminar was given by Lorena Kleinmann and Magalí Sammarco to 20 professors of Club de Amigos working with children who are beginners to sport. The objective of the seminar was to teach professors so that they could put their knowledge into practice with children of the club.
Both theory and practice took place in the facilities of Club de Amigos. It was an 8-hour seminar divided into 4 meetings of 2 hours each.
Colegio San Martín de Tours
A seminar run by Lorena Kleinmann for the nine physical education teachers who teach in kindergarten, primary and secondary school.
The objective was to give teachers the necessary tools to pass on the basics of Orienteering to students.
The seminar lasted one and a half day with a total of 12 hours.
The theory was given at the school and the practice took place at the sports center of Club de Amigos. The event ended with an Orienteering race in Palermo.

Secretaría de Deporte de la Nación
The seminar was run by two professors who specially came for this event from Sweden (Per-Olof Bentsson) and from Finland (Pentty Koponen). The purpose was to broaden the knowledge of Orienteering among the organizational staff in Argentina and to promote the spreading of the sport throughout the country. Thirty people took part in the event. The duration was of one and a half day. On the second day, a final race took place in Ezeiza woods.

UNPA (Universidad Nacional de la Patagonia Austral, or UNPA for its acronym in Spanish) in Río Gallegos.
Seminar run by Lorena Kleinmann for teachers of Rio Gallegos.
Twenty-five people took part in the event, among them there were physical education teachers, school teachers of different subjects and camp experts.
The objective was to provide basic knowledge about the sport in order to spread it throughout the province creating new educational tools.
It was a two-day seminar, one module of introduction to Orienteering and another one of methodology and a final race along the coastline of the city.

Orienteering workshops
Holiday camp of Universidad de Buenos Aires
This workshop was held during the holiday camp that took place in the university facilities. Six-hundred people from 6 to 16 years old took part in the event.
People were given two courses a week and were introduced progressively to the basics of the sport.
At the same time a research project was carried out. The thesis title is “Cognitive strategies and Orienteering”.

Club de Amigos
Workshop with teenagers 2005-2001. Ages ranged from 12 to 17.
It was a three-month workshop and was run on Saturday afternoons. It was an extra activity among the regular ones.
Teenagers received the basics on Orienteering. The workshop ended with a race in Palermo. Almost 100 teenagers took part in the event. They were divided into three groups according to age. The workshop was aimed at promoting loyalty and commitment.

Events for institutions
Colegio Martín Buber
The event was carried out to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school. Five hundred and fifty children of kindergarten, primary and secondary school attended the event.
Around 30 professors and teachers worked in the event.
Children had to find clues, solve clues and carry out instructions.
There were three different routes, one for each category.
At the end of the event children had to group by colors and make a puzzle together.

Villa Juncal seniors residence.
Three events were carried out for all ages Competitors’ age ranged from 80 to 90.
The first event took place in the area around the planetarium, the second one in the residence itself and the third one at San Martín square.
Before those events, people were trained in the use of map, compass and basic Orienteering equipment.
The last event was backed by a research project aimed at showing that practicing this sport increases seniors concentration.
Twenty seniors and their families took part in the event.
Independent Life.
Two events were carried out for people with physical disabilities.
The objective was to teach them to use the wheelchair and get used to it in different terrains. The event took place at CERENA (National Recreational Centre, or CERENA for its acronym in Spanish) a piece of land that belongs to Secretaría de Deportes de la Nación.
They had to answer questions at every clue they found with the help of a map and a compass.
